The very first 0 Euro Souvenir Banknote designated for Turkey will be available in January 2019. On November 10th 2018, it was exactly 80 years ago that the Mustafa Kemal Atatürk also known as ‘The Father of all Turks’ died. Ibrahim Golgeli, one of our associates came up with the idea that Atatürk should be the face of the very first Turkish edition of the 0 Euro souvenir banknotes. We started working out the concept on November 11th and the design which bears the unique serial number of Turkey: TUAA. A limited edition of only 5000 pieces will be printed at one of the ECB printing enterprises and the banknote bears some unique details such as the turned ‘8’ seen on the note with the year 1938. It actually stands for infinity. About 95% of this edition will be sold directly in Turkey.
Mustafa Kemal Atatürk will be the first series of many Turkish series to come featuring historical places, attractions, sports and various special editions such as ‘the 11 presidents’. Since 0 Euro souvenir banknote is practically unknown in Turkey, we will start with a promotion campaign named ‘Kemal is coming’ in January 2019.
